Abu Dhabi 3×3 Tour 2016, ready to start
More than 200 players are ready for action on the courts installed in ADNEC, for the first tournament of the Abu Dhabi 3×3 Basketball Tour.
The FIBA Endorsed event, organized within the Abu Dhabi Sports Festival 2016 in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, will be played on Friday and Saturday starting 09 PM in each of the days.
The registered players and their friends are invited in ADNEC also on Thursday evening, starting 9PM, as the courts are opened for practice and pick-up games. The full game schedule of the event and side-events is available on the official website of the competition, www.abudhabi3x3.com
The registration was free of charge and all the players will receive an official game jersey. Four age categories are available, for both men and women – U13, U15, U18 and Open, and the best teams from each Quest will qualify for the Quest Final on 18 June.
The winner of the Quest Final will represent Abu Dhabi in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour.
The 3×3 basketball event concept it’s not only dedicated to the players. All the spectators, families and basketball friends, are invited to be part of this sport experience. DJ scratching all day long, contests for spectators, kids area and other side-events will generate a lot of fun for all the family members.
Abu Dhabi 3×3 Basketball Tour is organized by Abu Dhabi Sports Council together with UAE Basketball Association.

For the second year in a row Abu Dhabi will be the world capital of 3×3 basketball. The fifth edition of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour will start in Mexico City on 16-17 July and culminate with the World Tour Final in Abu Dhabi on 27-28 October. 3×3 basketball, hopes for Olympic Games
FIBA President Horacio Muratore (left) and FIBA Secretary General Patrick Baumann met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach.
FIBA is ready to submit the proposal to IOC in due course to have 3×3 at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Abu Dhabi Sports Council and UAE Basketball Association are part of the global effort to achieve this goal, following a very active 2015 season, ended with the best 3×3 event ever, FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final.
