After two days full of 3×3 basketball games it all came down to the last shot and the UAE All Stars prevailed in the final of the Open Men Category, 15-13 in overtime, in front of Beast Squad.
It was a game ended in dramatic fashion. Qais Al Shbebi scored the last basket just after the time expired, at 13-13, so the game went to overtime. The first team to score two points wins the game, this is the rule in 3×3 basketball, in overtime. Amer Al Sati brought the victory for UAE All Stars, scoring twice on consecutive possessions.
Both teams, together with the third place, the Romanian Hustlers, qualified for the Quest Final that will be held next Saturday and where they will fight with the best three teams from Quest 2 for a place in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour.
In Open Women, Frozen Mali scored 20 points in the final and receive only 8, to beat the Hoop Stars.
Team Pura was the winner of the U13 boys category, beating Shooting Bricks with 13-10 in the final, while in the U15 boys category, Team Force went on undefeated the whole tournament to claim the trophy, after an easy final, 19-11 with Team Absolute.
Team FY dominated the U18 boys category and finished on the first place, taking home the gold medals. In the final they beat Tropang Potchi with 19-13.
The award ceremony was presented by H.E. Talal al Hashemi, Director of Sports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Sports Council and H.E. Khalid al Hanaei, 3×3 Basketball Chairman of UAE Basketball Association.
Abu Dhabi 3×3 Tour will continue with Quest 2, on June 16-17, where the schedule is already full, with 55 teams registered in only one day, showing the big interest for 3×3 basketball competitions in Abu Dhabi and UAE.
Abu Dhabi 3×3 Tour is organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council together with UAE Basketball Association and it is part of the Abu Dhabi Sports Festival 2016, in ADNEC.
