Team Ljubljana (SLO) won the 2016 FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final after defeating Hamamatsu (JPN) (21-12) in the title game in Abu Dhabi on 27-28 October. The best 12 teams from FIBA 3×3 World Tour will gather for the second consecutive year in Abu Dhabi for the FIBA 3×3 World Tour final. The event will take place in the iconic International Tennis Centre from Zayed Sports City, on 27-28 October.
Following the Master Americas, the last of the seventh FIBA 3×3 World Tour tournaments from 2016, Chicago was the team gaining a spot in the big final as the winner of the tournament.
Chicago joined Caguas (PUR), Novi Sad Al Wahda (UAE), Ljubljana (SLO) and Saskatoon (CAN) as the five teams which qualified by winning a Masters.
The other 7 finalists earned their ticket because they finished in the Top 12 in the World Tour season standings. They are: Gdansk (POL, 6th), São Paulo DC (BRA, 7th), Piran (SLO, 8th), St Petersburg (RUS, 9th), Hamamatsu (JPN, 10th), Kranj (SLO, 11th) and Belgrade (SRB, 12th).
