The best 3×3 basketball players in the world area ready to come to Abu Dhabi for the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final, the most important basketball event of the year, organized with the support of Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
A true basketball city will be built in the parking facility of Nation Towers, on Corniche Road, to host, on October 15th and 16th, the best 3×3 basketball players and a lot of fun activities for everybody.
Teams from all over the world will come to Abu Dhabi to battle for a total of almost 100.000 USD in money prize and for the most important tournament of the year, the FIBA 3×3 World Tour.
If the players will be stars on the court, during the games, spectators can be the stars during the whole event, as they will have a special fan zone, with an official 3×3 basketball court, plenty of dedicated contests, a basketball theme playground for children and many more.
The young urban basketball discipline, featuring two teams of three players, playing on one hoop, became very popular worldwide in the past years. FIBA, the International Basketball Federation, runs a World Tour, with six Masters that this year took place in Manila (Philippines), Prague (Czech Republic), Beijing (China), Lausanne (Switzerland), Mexico City (Mexico), while the last one will be in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) on September 26th and 27th.
From each Masters both finalists got their tickets to Abu Dhabi and so far the tournament will feature Novi Sad Al Wahda (UAE) the big home crowd favorites, Manila North (Philippines), Vilnius (Lithuania), Ljubljana, Trbovlje and Kranj (all from Slovenia), Doha (Qatar), Kolobrzeg (Poland), Denver and NY Harlem (both from USA). The last two teams will be decided after the Rio de Janeiro Masters.
Team Novi Sad Al Wahda, featuring the first four players in the FIBA 3×3 Individual World Ranking, won both Abu Dhabi 3×3 Tour and Abu Dhabi 3×3 Challenger, the popular competitions organized during the spring by Abu Dhabi Sports Council and its partners, UAE Basketball Association, Extra International Sport and Sport Arena.
