Team Al Wahda will again represent UAE in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour

For the second year in a row, the Al Wahda 3×3 basketball team was the champion of the Abu Dhabi 3×3 Tour and it will represent the UAE in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour.

After the title won last year in October, in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final that took place in Abu Dhabi, Dusan Bulut, the 3×3 world number one player in the world, and his teammates are ready again to conquer the 3×3 basketball world.

They won the Quest Final against a very strong opponent, UAE All Star, with former NBA player Donte Greene in the team. The sharp shooting and the stifling defense helped Al Wahda to retain their crown, and also get the revenge, after the UAE All Star beat them one day before, during the second stage of the Tour.

Beast Squad and Romanian Hustlers finished on third and fourth place, and will join Al Wahda and UAE All Star in the Abu Dhabi 3×3 Challenger international tournament, that will take place in ADNEC, on 24-25 June.

The award ceremony was presented by Saif Thabet, representative of Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Khalid Al Hanaei, chairman of 3×3 from UAE Basketball Association.

During the past two weeks, the 3×3 basketball tournaments that are part of the Abu Dhabi 3×3 Tour had a total of 500 registered players and proved to be a real celebration of basketball but also a way to stay active and healthy playing the most popular team sport in the world, 3×3 basketball.

In a year that will be crucial for 3×3 basketball, as the discipline is chasing its Olympic dream and might become part of the Tokyo 2020 edition, this kind of tournaments are showing that the love for this game is spread everywhere in the world and are contributing the growth of 3×3 basketball at a global level.

Next meeting with 3×3 basketball in Abu Dhabi will be in less than a week, as some of the best teams from UAE, GCC, Europe and Asia will take part in Abu Dhabi 3×3 Challenger, the second edition of the international tournament.

Abu Dhabi 3×3 Tour and Abu Dhabi 3×3 Challenger are organized by Abu Dhabi Sports Council and UAE Basketball Association and are part of the Abu Dhabi Sports Festival, in ADNEC.
